Brilliant Summer Concert

Another terrific Annual Concert where we said farewell to our Director Chis Holley. We raised £552.40 for This Way Up, which works in Solihull secondary schools among young people who are coping with loss in their lives eg bereavement or family breakdown.

Singing our first item

Our accompanist George Ireland, who also serenaded us with ‘Au Clair De La Lune’ and Beethoven’s Pathétique. Thank you so much George

Chris joking with the audience. Some of us laughed!

Cheryl Hawkins, Director of This Way Up, sharing some of the fantastic work, this charity does in Solihull Secondary schools.

Will Tuckwell our virtuoso guitarist playing one of his two jazz pieces, including ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square’. Great stuff!

Chris Holley receiving a standing ovation from the choir – richly deserved. Chris will shortly be moving to Cardiff, Shirley’s loss is certainly Cardiff’s gain.

The This Way Up information table with Director Cheryl Hawkins and Trustee John Bradley. Cheryl writes: “It was a great event with lots of community spirit and I’m very pleased to let you know that a total of £552.40 was put into our collecting bucket! This certainly exceeded my expectations. Please pass on my appreciation to the choir members for a very enjoyable and successful evening for This Way Up.”
