Together with our friends from Northfield Notes Community Choir, we sang our hearts out at Northfield Carnival. Thanks for your support. More pictures in our album.
22nd December Carols at Longmore Nursing Home – Much appreciated by the elderly residents. Last minute booking as they had been let down by another group. Joined by three guests who came along to swell the numbers – including a National Express Bus Driver (not in uniform!) Asked us whether we would like to come next year.
18th December Carols at Morrison’s Solihull – A great evening – many smiles from the shoppers and occasional applause. We raised £116 for Acorns Children’s Hospice – even though we weren’t allowed to rattle our collecting buckets! Well done everyone!
12th December Carols at ASDA, Shirley Slightly wet but still worth it. Had our own piper who played an Amazing Grace solo before and after we sang the song. ASDA managed to find a Gazebo so we didn’t get too wet and Andrea found a battery powered key-board so we didn’t need mains electricity. For the carols, Paul Campion, Minister of Shirley Baptist Church played the accordion with great gusto.
Tremendous night. Six choral numbers became seven when the audience accepted the MC’s offer of an “encore”. They wouldn’t let us sit down after our session so we led them all in “this little light of mine”, “you’ll never walk alone” and some rock’n roll numbers, which were all before my time of course!
