About Us

Shirley Community Gospel Choir was formed in 2010 for the people of Shirley and surrounding areas to come together and enjoy gospel singing with other people.

We have been very fortunate to have had some excellent Musical Directors since the choir began: Adam and Steph Sanders, Bryn Bowen, Chris Holley, and currently Katie Roe. We are also proud to have many talented accompanists join us for rehearsals and play with us at our concerts.

We now have over 50 people who are part of the choir and we are always welcoming new members, no singing experience required and no auditions to get in. We perform in and around Shirley and the wider area. This includes more formal concerts, but we regularly perform in the community. Activities have included carol singing at local supermarkets and at Shirley Carnival. We have also been invited to sing at events further afield too.
